Yoga

The Teacher
I found yoga while living in Mumbai, India in 2009 and immediately fell in love. I was so drawn to it that I started my teacher training 1 month later at the Yoga Institute of Mumbai, where I completed my 200-hour course. I continued living in India for 5 years with my jazz singing career, where my days were spent teaching yoga and volunteering at the Cherish orphanage. I moved back to the UK in 2014 and started my business teaching.
In the last 5 years I have taught over 4000 yoga classes. I LOVE TO TEACH!!! My passion is to help people, so I teach in a down to earth way with plenty of humor to make it easy to learn. I have done lots of group lessons, in studios, gyms, and retreat centers but working 1-to-1 with students is my favorite. When I can really get to know someone and find out their individual needs and what they want to gain from their practice, I can custom build their lessons. It is amazing planting the seeds of yoga, watering, and watching people grow. I have met so many beautiful souls with so much potential, I feel there is nothing more rewarding than being a guide and a friend and watching a student come into their own. I have also taught in several primary schools as well with children ages 3-11. I have developed a different method of teaching for each age group, with my very own yoga songs and lessons, it is so lovely and rewarding.
The teacher’s path hasn’t always been easy. I am driven by my heart, helping people is more important to me than making money. While this may be noble, it can be hard, and for a long time I was just making enough to survive. I taught at many recovery programs as well, even giving these classes away for free when their budget ran out of money and they couldn’t pay me. And, even though yoga is an amazing path, not everyone you encounter is living what they are teaching, and I have been done wrong by a few of them who’s interests were about making money. But I realized that all of this has just increased my emotional resilience and helped me to grow.

The last couple of years I have finally found the balance, making my love of teaching into a sustainable lifestyle. It has taken me to some beautiful places, teaching in Bali, Gili Air, Thailand, Costa Rica, and also starting up my online business. I have successfully completed several series of online courses with lovely students from around the world. It has been an absolutely amazing journey, and while I am overjoyed to be here in this present moment, I am also very excited for the future.
